Organizers of the second annual Metamorphose: A Concert for Change look forward to an evening of food, interactive art, connection, music and dance. The free concert/gathering at Bayview Community Hall is planned for Saturday, June 27th beginning with a potluck dinner at 6 PM.
“Metamorphose is more than a concert. It is an opportunity for our community to connect through music, art, poetry and food! There will be a chance for everyone to add to our collective creativity and to weave together a stronger community fabric,” notes the event’s Facebook page. Additionally:
“Music and creativity begin at 7:00. Music with Camila Recchio, Window Goya, Nick Toombs, Steve Barbour, Asa Bodnar and his sister Kade Bodnar, Rocky Jensen, Annie Jesperson & Aria Peterman, Nathaniel Talbot, Sweetbitter Band and more!
The Taproom@Bayview Corner will provide spirited beverages. Last year’s popular Metamorphose evening attracted standing room only crowds.

Rocky Jensen, Cynthia Kaul-Anderson, Annie Jesperson, and Karen Achabal—who spearheaded last year’s event with Rocky, met at Koneksi Co-Creative Galley in Clinton recently recently to plan details the event.
To reduce trash, visitors are asked to bring their own plates and utensils, along with a dish to share for the potluck gathering.
Metamorphose was inspired last year when Karen Achabal heard a local singer. She collaborated with Rocky to create last year’s event.
“We heard Camila sing Masters of War by Bob Dylan,” said Karen. “I thought maybe we needed a chance to express ourselves collectively. This year we’ve expanded the idea to make it more interactive. Rather than being about protest, this year it’s about how do we create change? We’re having the community come together over art and being creative rather than a sit down concert with an art show.”
Symbolizing our collective connection is a traveling community weaving, an interactive art project that will be part of this year’s Metamorphose. Additionally, art supplies and rolls of paper invite visitors to express their creativity. At the concert’s start, Camila will invite the audience to collectively write a song, which she will perform.
