Folks suffering from neurohealth disorders may be interested in exploring treatment using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).

The Breathing Space Counseling Clinic in Freeland offers TMS treatment using NeuroStar technology, an advanced therapy used for treating depression, anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorders, among other illnesses.

Paula Lintin, LMHC, LPCC, serves as the CEO/Clinical Director of the Breathing Space Counseling Clinic. She has more than 30 years’ experience working in hospitals and in private practice, treating trauma, psychiatric assessment and crisis intervention. She moved her former Kirkland practice to Freeland in August 2023.

“I have an interest in alternative treatments,” Lintin said, referring to the benefits she sees with TMS. “With my experience working in psychology, in hospitals so many years, and, having seen hundreds of patients, I know there’s more available than just using medications.”

Citing the FDA’s approval in March of NeuroStar’s treatment for major depressive disorders for young people aged 15-21, Lintin was further convinced of the benefits of TMS and has invested in a NeuroStar treatment machine at her clinic.

Her clinical team includes Dr. Ashley Keays, DO, MPH, FAAFP,  a physician licensed in TMS treatment. A series of 36 treatments over a period of seven weeks is prescribed. The treatment is FDA approved and is covered by major insurance providers with a doctor’s referral. Military insurance plan Tricare covers TMS treatment as well.
